Testimonials
A huge thank you to all my clients and customers who have sent me such beautiful testimonials and thank you notes, I will add to this page over time. Every single one is so greatly appreciated, feedback is of vital importance! Thank you for becoming part of the K9 Instinct family!
First off I'd just like to say THANK YOU. Between websites, and mostly your page and all the info I have obtained from it and your book, I can't thank you enough. I was leery at first about a raw diet for my GSD. He started having digestion problems, he wasn't very active, and he just looked like a sick dog because of what I learned from you and and other sources. KIBBLE. As soon as my wife and I decided to step forward and go raw, the change was almost instant. When I fed him his first meal, he turned and ran figure 8's in our living room for 5 minutes straight. I almost cried because I didn't see that from him for such a long time. He has no digestion problems now. His energy level is way up. His teeth are so white. He is doing FANTASTIC. So I truly cannot thank you enough for what you do and the information you give to people. You truly are a blessing to my family. Thank you thank you thank youuuu.

I would simply like to say thank you!!! I have now been feeding my dog Raw for about 3 months and the change I have seen is incredible to say the least. I have a 2 year old GSD who prior to Raw, was weighing in at 100+ pounds. To be honest, he looked great and was pretty powerful, and I did not think anything of it. Since I made the change to raw... what I thought was great, was actually not. Axle is now weighing in at 80 pounds and he is lean, stronger than ever, and he is acting more like a happy 2 year old puppy. His skin is great, no bad breath, his poop disintegrates after 4-5 days (little to NO smell), energy level is high but definitely manageable, and his feeding cost has NOT increased at all. Absolutely NO food aggression!!! I am completely satisfied with your eBook, "A Guide to Raw Feeding 2nd Edition". During my first week I had a question and I was very happy to have my email replied to within 24 hours. Thanks K9 Instinct!!!

Otus, Chinook and I want to send a big thank you to Angel at K9 Instinct! Angel played a significant role in helping me understand the nutritional requirements and switching Otus (Siberian Husky) to the Raw diet when he was 6 months old. Otus had digestive issues and our vet at the time couldn't help him. After switching him to raw, no more digestive issues. Then, early fall, Chinook (Husky-mix) joined our family. She was very thin, rough fur, and eyes sunken. Following Angel's advice, Chinook started showing improvement in a few days. She now healthy with bright, beautiful eyes and silky fur (and the strong odor from her skin is gone). With Chinook we had a chance to really see the benefits of raw.
I recommend Angel at K9 Instinct to everyone we meet considering the raw diet. She explained diet and nutrition so I could understand and feel confident in making the switch.

Dear K9 Instinct,
On behalf of myself, my husband and of course our boy Malu…we wanted to say THANK YOU! I’ve followed your Facebook page and website, doing my research well before we received our boy at 9wks old. From the moment we got him, I started him on a slow transition from Kibble to Raw. Within a month he was basically on raw full time, however, he gets kibble (Grain Free - Fromm) when we are not home, but he doesn’t really eat much of that as he prefers is Raw Diet instead. I have taken in EVERY suggestion you have posted between your Facebook page and your web site. I’m finally using some of the natural treat recipes from your site and Malu goes nuts over them. He’s 8mo old now! WOW.. what an amazing transformation Malu has taken. He is healthy, his skin is amazing, no bad breath, his teeth are strong and clean, no allergies as of yet and he’s soo strong and energetic. Absolutely no digestive problems and as strange as it sounds, not an overabundance of shedding which is so amazing for German Shepherds and I can only attest that to his raw feeding. I swear by both of your sites and I suggest them both to anyone who inquires about raw feeding. We are going to be getting another GSD puppy in the spring and I plan on the same institution of raw feeding. I can’t thank you and your family enough for sharing your knowledge and information with us. We truly could not be happier!

My GSD, Kaiser, has been plagued with itchy ears, sores all over his paws and back and general misery. The only relief he's found is for a few days after a steroid injection - until now! I started him on the raw diet 4 days ago and the results are amazing. He no longer chews his paws - so the sores are healing - and the gnats leave him alone so he stays outside more. His ears are still a work in progress but are greatly improved. He is much more playful - which he should be at just 3 years old! The food probably costs me a LITTLE more but when you factor in the vet bills and the general discomfort of your buddy - it's money well invested! Thank you!!

I can’t thank you enough for all the information that you provide on your blog about canine nutrition. I have four dogs – 2 wire fox terriers and 2 beaucerons, each with their own unique nutritional needs. It’s taken me a long time to get where we are now, but each day I learn a little more about taking responsibility for the health of my pets.
A few years ago, I was like most people who thought they were doing the best thing for their dogs. I fed them the dry food recommended and sold at our veterinary practice. My wire fox girls were a little overweight, lazy, and grumpy. I thought they were normal and the vet agreed that they were doing well. That all changed the day we brought Ryder, our first beauceron, home. Ryder is as alpha-female as they come, high-strung and bossy. We took her to puppy school so that she could learn manners and embark on her obedience studies. It was at puppy school that we learned the importance of nutrition. So like any good parent, we wanted to do the right thing for our kids and switched all of our dogs to Orijen. Ryder thrived on Orijen. She had tons of energy, her coat was glossy and thick, and her digestive system was like clockwork. My terriers also loved Orijen, but they didn’t thrive. My oldest started drinking tons of water, urinating excessively, and was six pounds overweight. Something was very wrong. The vet ran some bloodwork and advised us that Kate’s bloodwork showed that her liver enzymes were very elevated. He worried about Cushing’s or worse. Kate was prescribed a veterinary diet, some supplements, and sent us home.
Kate hated the prescription food. On a whim, I read the ingredients – they were crap. Absolute crap. I booted up my computer and started reading everything I could about liver disease in dogs and how to prepare homecooked meals for her. Once I started cooking for Kate, her health seemed to improve within a week. Within a couple of months, she had lost most of the excess weight and she no longer needed the special supplements. We were thrilled. The vet shrugged, suggested it wouldn’t last. We were to keep her on the supplements and food. Why take a chance. I found a new vet.
As Kate’s health improved, I continued to research canine nutrition and cook for my dogs. We have tried several popular dogfood cookbooks on the market. Most of them contain grain-based carb heavy recipes that my girls just didn’t seem to do well on. I came across the K9 Instinct blog and decided to try the free recipes on a whim. My girls were hooked. I purchased the ebook for homecooked meals and started making the recipes. Meal preparation has become an event in my house. When their favorite meal, Shepherd’s Pie, is being prepared they all gather around in anticipation. I like the fact that the recipes are nutritionally balanced and easy to prepare. There is enough variety in the recipes that I can rotate between four recipes for my beauceron and not have to worry about exposure to poultry. The other thing I appreciate about the recipes is that the ingredients are still recognizable, they aren’t cooked down to mush. I personally wouldn’t experiment with any other dog food recipes unless they came from someone who specialized in canine nutrition.

I found your website on Facebook. This was a life changing moment for my dog as well as me.
Sarge has been suffering from ear infections and cysts on his body. I started him on the raw food diet plan you made for me after a long time of going to the Vet for drops, steroids, and discussions of surgery. That was for his ears. They indicated there was nothing they could do for the cysts, only recommended surgery but the cysts would come back anyway. They did however recommend vegetarian dog food which I would have been happy to try at the time only they had run out.
So I bit the bullet and e-mailed you and I was very impressed with your knowledge. Then after a consultation I was still really thinking hard about the raw food diet. What changed my mind was my dogs ear exploded from inside and it was all pus. So thanks to you and your help, my boy is infection free and cyst free. I am so happy. His teeth are amazing, his coat is so shiny, and he seems happy. Thank you so much for helping my dog and myself. Yes, I still smell his ears every day but have yet in the 4 months he has been on the raw food diet to have an infection.

Bronco and I would like to thank Angel for all you have done for us. I came upon K9 Instinct by chance one day while searching raw diets and this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Bronco, my 2 1/2 year old GSD was never a big eater, and some days I literally had to spoon feed him as he didn't care for the dry food. I went from Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul - Large Breed to Taste of the Wild and he just ate slowly, sorta picking at it reluctantly. I wanted to switch to Raw but had no idea where to start. When I discovered Angel and K9 Instinct, I knew I would finally get the info I was looking for. Angel gave me a complete meal breakdown within hours after completing a small survey about Bronco.
It has been roughly 5 months and each meal is greeted with an excited, jumping, tail wagging dog that cannot wait to eat. Each time I see his excitement while I'm prepping his food, makes me realize that I will never go back to any other form of feeding. I am extremely grateful to Angel for everything, including answering my (what seemed like) never ending questions with patience and very quickly. Thank you!

When our GSD Mia started teething, she stopped eating. We would add water to it, chicken broth, veggies... anything to get her to eat. Not even hand feeding worked. Some days she would go an entire day without touching her food. My husband suggested raw feeding. I was leery about it first, but then my husband came across your facebook page. The amount of information on your website and facebook page is outstanding and the ebooks are so helpful and really take the guess work out of this process. We are SO glad we changed her diet. Mia LOVES meal time now! She gets so excited when she knows its time to eat. She doesn't have "doggy breath", she has beautiful pearly whites. Her coat is thick and shiny. And most importantly, shes happy AND healthy.

When my four year old dog was having stool and tarter issues, I wanted to try something else besides kibble for her. I recently purchased all 3 of your e-books to fully educate myself on the “how-to” of feeding my dog a non-kibble diet. I found everything I needed in your books on a home cooked diet, treats, and raw diets.
Throughout the books I was able to find detailed recipes, pictures, and in depth information how to begin a raw or home cooked diet. My dog absolutely loves the treats I make her. Thank you for offering such an easy to follow series of books! I would highly recommend them to someone looking to feed their dog a healthier diet!

I have two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Chewi is my 19-month old boy who has been with us since 8-weeks of age. Lizzie came to us at 3.5 years of age, as her owner couldn’t keep her any more. Chewi had to have hip surgery at 20 weeks of age, and we had to be careful of how quickly he grew, yet we had to be sure he was getting the right nutrients at the same time. Although I didn’t have him on kibble/biscuits as food, I was cooking his food, and didn’t actually really comprehend what ‘raw’ meant. Your e-book was great – it had pictures that pointed to what could fill a dogs food bowl. For me, this was marvelous, now I could start giving Chewi some ‘real’ food! When we rescued Lizzie, we put her on the same diet, and for the first time she would jump up and down like a puppy licking her lips at each meal time. Their coats changed colour and became more shiny, their energy increased, as did their playfulness. And I have an absolute ball preparing their food. Now they get raw, plus cooked meals from the other e-book, and healthy grain-free snacks from yet another e-book from K9 Instinct.

Angel, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your eBook “A Guide to Raw Feeding” . I have been feeding my two dogs a raw diet for over a year now but still had some questions. I found your website and Facebook page, you answered so many of my questions and gave me much more insight on raw feeding. The eBook was so easy to follow and understand, and you are always there to answer a quick question. Thank you so much!

We have two German shepherds - Rudy and Luna - and a border collie mix named Duncan. As a puppy, Rudy had skin and digestive issues; our vet recommended a special kibble for skin and coat, which we fed to all three dogs for over 7 years.
Although Rudy’s digestion was fine, his skin issues never completely went away. He was healthy in all other respects, but he was frequently itchy. In recent months, his skin issues worsened and I started doing some research online. After reviewing the information and testimonials on your site, I decided to buy the homemade dog food cookbook - for $15, I figured it was worth a shot.
That $15 has turned out to be a terrific investment! There were no problems transitioning the dogs from kibble to the homemade food. They easily adjusted. They absolutely love their new diet and lick their bowls clean. All three dogs have silky coats now. Rudy’s skin issues have all but disappeared; he doesn’t chew on his legs and paws, and he doesn’t scratch his ears and body. It really is an amazing transformation! I only wish we had tried your homemade diet years ago.
I think the biggest adjustment was for me to find a way to keep up with the demand. Making homemade dog food takes a bit more planning and organization than feeding them kibble. I wasn’t sure that I could make it work at first, but I have developed a system to cook large batches on the weekend and it doesn’t take all that long. Since the recipes call for ingredients that we eat too, I can buy those items in bulk. The bonus is that we have cut our dog food costs by at least half!
Happier, healthier dogs at half the price... I can’t thank you enough.

Hi Angel, I would like to thank you. I started cooking for my 15 year old chihuahua the home made food and wow what a turn around. Before I started he was eating canned dog food because he only has a few teeth left and was having some constipation issues. Which he would always eat and a few weeks ago he just stopped eating. So I looked every were for advice and thank god for this site. I'm happy to say he always finishes his food, has more energy and is now walking longer then he did before. His hair is even softer then my huskies coat and very shiny. I'm going to start my husky Leo on this diet. I wish I had found this site sooner.
He loved his birthday cake I made him peanut butter and banana pupcake, he refused his breakfast until he got his cake.
